Mr. Dev, Our Society The People’s voice , first of all makes a strong suggestion on the use of word as the Caption of the news. This is in itself separates the two Communities and draws a dividing line.
Those who fought for liberation of the Country from British Rule faced the wrath of the British who while leaving created a strong verge in the Communities .Leaders of the time like Mahatma Gandhi ,Jawahar Lal Nehru, vallabh Bhai Patel and scores of other including Bhim Rao Ambedkar tried their best to bring about unity amongst the population by coming up with many slogans and also tried to bring in provisions in the Constitution to uplift those Communities who were less in numbers to the level of the Community larger in number.
History is the evidence that all such slogans which were taken have not helped the Country to become cohesive. The plan of dividing the Society naming certain sections as minority have proven to be wrong .The verge has become permanent and its deepening and widening with the passage of time.
The People’s Voice Society has strong views on this issue. All those Articles of the Constitution need to be amended which create a separate class with certain extra rights and reservations. All citizens of India are human beings, which faith or route they follow to offer their personal prayers is a matter of personal choice but no section should have been treated with privileges which is denied to the other section. This has been the root cause of the divide but now it has deepened with the fresh legislation to keep the divide alive.
To make India a cohesive Country all sections of civil society need to be integrated in a large bouquet .Marriages between different castes ,religions and regions is the only way.
Government needs to incentivise such marriages .We have an existing legislation enacted in the year 1955 known as “Protection Of Civil Rights Act 1955“. Under this Act, marriages between different castes are incentivised , which at present is Rs 2,50,000/- per couple .Our pleas to the Government is to make it more deep and wide to include marriages between different religions and regions at the time .The scope of the incentives must be made very attractive to compel parents to look for spouses for their children from other castes, religions and regions. If this method of incentive is adopted in 20-30 years from now the face of India will change .
The law which has been enacted by few States to curb marriage between different religions should be repealed forthwith. The purpose for which it has been enacted can be served by the existing laws.
